Winter means onion slip and potato ordering time!
Onion Slips will be available at the 5th annual seed swap for pick up.
If you didn't preorder, there will be additional stock available, however, pre-paid orders will be honored first.
Potatoes will not be ready for pick up until shipped some time in Feb.
Onion slips for planting will be available at the farm for pick up on the day of our seed swap event, Jan. 16th, or by appointment if you're unable to pick up that day. Pre-pay and save, and pick up at your convenience by appt.
Potatoes ship via Colorado, pending favorable temperatures so they don't freeze en route through CO. You will be notified via email, and it will be posted here, as well as on our Facebook page when they arrive.
Fertilizer, soil amendments and foliar treatments will also be available for purchase, call or email ahead for quantity availability and pricing.
(Farmers - if you need large quantities of onions, potatoes or amendments, please phone ahead so I can be sure to have enough on hand.)

the story on this super-spud!

*TRANSPARENCY NOTE: Due to low production in the organic fields last growing season, this year's inventory of the Purple Majesty (only) came from a field where these seed potatoes were grown "conventionally". I spoke personally to one of the growers about what this meant;
Due to the high elevation and deep cold winters in CO, where these potatoes are grown, no pesticides are generally needed to control insects. (No aphids, potato beetles, etc. survive the winters/live at those elevations. Cool!) The deep cold freezes the soils to depths below insect hibernation levels, basically eliminating the need for common pesticide applications.
No post harvest treatments are done to the crops; meaning the potatoes are NOT sprayed with any sprout inhibitors after they're out of the ground as is common practice in "big ag" for consumption potatoes.
They did, however, use regular commercial fertilizers during the growing process.
Yellow Finn -
Medium sized, yellow flesh and skin
- Great all-purpose
potato, old European variety, known for their yellow flesh, creamy texture
Mountain
Rose - It's BACK for 2015!! Developed in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, and developed
specifically to increase nutritional content through traditional breeding,
Mountain Rose was found to be highly effective in inhibiting human breast
cancer cells implanted in rats.¹ This brightly red inside and out variety
makes for a fun potato salad, fried or mashed potato dish! Mix it with the
purple and yellow varieties for a rainbow of potato fun!
Red
Gold - Best for boiling, roasting and mashing, this pretty red skinned
potato came to us from Canada, originally.
Yukon
Gold - Another newer Canadian variety, the Yukon stands up to baking and
other forms of dry heat cooking very well. A smooth skinned and nearly
eye-free potato.
